Zach Unsell
Attorney at Law
Zach Unsell, a Long Beach native, joined Lyon Legal, P.C. in 2025. Zach served in the U.S. Army as a print journalist from 2002-2007. During this time, he wrote for or assisted editing three military newspapers, and he deployed once to Iraq in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Zach attended college later in life. He graduated from Long Beach City College in 2018 with an Associate's degree in Philosophy. Zach then graduated from U.C. Berkeley in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, and a minor in Public Policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy. Lastly, Zach attended U.C. Irvine, School of Law, and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2025. Zach also became a certified mediator in 2025.
Zach's previous legal experiences include externing at the United States Postal Service's Law Department on employment matters, participating in an intellectual property clinic focused on fair use in documentary filmmaking, participating in a small business clinic focused on business startups, and volunteering at various nonprofits, including volunteering at Veterans Legal Institute, where he assisted with new client interviews.
In his free time, Zach enjoys spending time with his daughter, attending plays and musicals, playing board games, mountain hiking, listening to sci-fi and fantasy audiobooks, writing the occasional poem, painting when inspiration strikes, and assisting on stage crews for his daughter’s musicals.
Zach became admitted to the California State bar in 2025 and is looking forward to serving your labor and employment needs.
